Silk is a born in Canada academic. Silk was born in Fredericton. Ilkay is the daughter of Peter who is an educator as well as an accomplished actress and playwright. Peter was educated at St. Thomas University. Anna remembers her mother working in the theatre and going to rehearsals. Silk made several commercials while she was still a kid. The year 1997 was the time she earned her bachelor's degree at St. Thomas University. Theatre St. Thomas was involved in at least two early theater productions which included Seven Menus (1997) and The Kitchen (1999). Silk relocated from Toronto in the month of November 1999, in the month of November 1999 to Los Angeles during the next decade. Seth Cooperman met Silk at the Actors Workshop in Los Angeles in 2007. The couple got engaged in 2009 and were married in a civil wedding ceremony in was held in December.
