Zoe-perry
Perry was born in Chicago to two actors Laurie Metcalf and Jeff Perry. The role of Jackie Harris was played by her mother in each of the two shows she starred in on Roseanne. But her parents would not permit her to perform until she was an adult, for fear of the negative effects that stress could affect their child. Perry confessed that she wasn't comfortable acting in high school. She began doing it to meet new people during her time at Northwestern University after switching from Boston University. After graduating Perry moved in New York to search for television work landing small roles in shows like Law & Order: Criminal Intent but homesickness brought Perry back home to California and she was able to find theater work. In 2013 she performed in The Other Place on Broadway alongside her mother. In 2015, she starred with Kevin McKidd alongside her mother in Eugene O'Neill's Pulitzer-winning Drama Anna Christie. It is part of the Odyssey Theatre Ensemble is located in West Los Angeles. Perry played a lead role in nine episodes of ABC's show The Family. In 2017, Perry had an appearance on ABC's political thriller Scandal along with her father. The actress was also featured on her role on the CBS sitcom The Big Bang Theory spinoff Young Sheldon as a version younger of Mary Cooper, Sheldon Cooper's mom. Despite the fact that she has a connection with her family to the character she got the role via an audition.
